Announcement of Poster Awards Winners

We are pleased to announce the Poster Award winners.  We are grateful to Discover Sustainability for sponsoring the Poster Awards.

The First Prize of £200 was awarded to Saman Sobhani from Aberystwyth University for his poster entitled Multispecies Justice in Urban Planning: Evaluating the Impact of Development on Ecosystems and Biodiversity in Wales.

Saman Sobhani, a PhD candidate at Aberystwyth University, specializes in urban green infrastructure planning. With a master's in urban design and a bachelor's in urban development engineering, his expertise encompasses GIS, CAD, SPSS, and qualitative research, aiming to enhance multi-species urban ecosystems.

The  two runner-up prize (£100 each) winners are as follows:

Pooja Bajaj from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology for her poster entitled MXene-WO3 composites for gas sensing application.

Pooja Bajaj, a DST-INSPIRE fellow has recently submitted her PhD thesis to Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) at CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, India. Following her Master’s in Inorganic Chemistry, her doctoral research focuses on the design and development of 2D materials (MXenes and g-C 3 N 4 ) mediated metal oxide composites for application in gas sensing and photocatalytic application.

Supraja Sankeshi from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology for her poster entitled Simple Strategies to Obtain Porous Hierarchical Nanostructures of SnO2 for Improved Gas Sensing Performance for VOCs.

Supraja Sankeshi, an Electronics Engineer with a Masters in Nanotechnology, is presently pursuing a PhD in Materials Science as a DST-INSPIRE fellow under AcSIR at CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad. Her research focuses on the design and development of metal oxide based Nanostructured functional materials for application in chemo-resistive sensors.
